It's 1:15am on Sunday, December 16, 2008 and the (expected) blizzard is getting bad. Earlier this evening my youngest son (13 yrs old) accidently left the front door open and our two small dogs ran out. Scruffy (Llasapso cross) and Patches (Bischon cross) took off...Scruffy was found soon after. I was frantic. While we were out searching for him in the beginning of the blizzard, there was a message left on my answering machine saying that some kind sole took our dog to Burgess Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Burlington, Ontario. They took care of Patches until Animal Control picked him up. We won't be able to pick Patches up until tomorrow after 10am (when they open), but when I called Burgess Veterinary Clinic to ask if he was okay, the young woman who answered the phone said he was....I was so very relieved.....Thank you.
